Children and young people in the week

There are exciting groups for children and young people of all ages that are held during the week. You are very welcome to come and join the group that is appropriate to your age group.

 

Oaks and Acorns ( 0 - 4 years)

Oaks and Acorns meets each Tuesday afternoon at 1pm during term time for children aged 0-4years, along with their parents, carers, grandparents etc.

Activities include a soft play room, a bike room facility and craft activites. Each family is asked to contribute £1 each week that will include refreshments.

The families enjoy coming each week and a lot of positive feedback is received from both children and grown ups.

 

 

 

 

 

JAM Club  (School years 4-8)

JAM Club is for children aged 8-11 years who are still in primary school. This exciting club meets every fortnight on Tuesdays during term time between 6.30pm and 8.00pm.

JAM provides a safe environment where children can have fun, through a programme of termly activities. Activities include football, snooker, table tennis and uni-hok. Each week there is a special interest time e.g. knock out competitions, cooking, craft or challenge games. There is also time during the evening to think and pray to Jesus; after all, that is why the group is called Jesus and Me!

Bulletproof (School years 7-11)

Bulletproof is a youth club that meet the needs of 11-16s on Tuesday evenings during term time. The club offers a mix of games, activities, outdoor trips and special events (e.g. ten pin bowling, Karting) alongside chill out evenings and a number of Rock Solid evenings with a moral /Christian theme, challenging the young people to think and learn.

Girls'Brigade (Ages 4-17)

This is a world wide Christian youth organisation for girls and young women whose motto is to ‘seek, serve and follow Christ’. They meet in an atmosphere of fun and fellowship, offering girls the opportunity to grow and develop in every aspect of life. They run a badge programme which is 4 sided – spiritual, physical, educational and service and is aimed at 4 different age groups:

  • Explorers 4-8 years
  • Juniors 8-11 years
  • Seniors 12-14 years
  • Brigaders 14 years +

Through this programme and extra activities such as camps, parades, competitions and other local events, their aim is to help the girls become followers of Jesus and through self-control, reverence and a sense of responsibility to find true enrichment in life.

Girls' Brigade is part of a global Christian movement with a great history and a passionate vision for this generationand the future. It is committed to seeing lives and communities transformed and enriched as individuals seek, serve and follow Jesus Christ.
